Job Description

An Application Analyst at Portico Benefit Services is responsible for being active member of the enterprise data team delivering and enhancing SAP configuration, reporting, and data-related IT activities. On the enterprise data team, this person is responsible for contributing to defining sprint deliverables and completing them. Activities include triaging issues, understanding business requirements, testing items to ensure expected results are met, performing database queries, and documenting efforts. This person must work cohesively with all members of the enterprise data team along with business users and other technical staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in cooperative Agile development environment to plan work efforts, commit to sprint deliverables, and complete. Collaborate with team members to complete sprint goals and increase learning.
• Collaborate with other partners involved in the product development process such as business users and other IT staff.
• Develop and document expected results for backlog items.
• Develop and execute test scenarios that ensure risk-appropriate coverage.
• Triage issues and perform analysis to validate reported issues as needed.
• Assist in the development of test plans and test methodologies for new software solutions and significant software enhancements.
• Update requirements based on product enhancements and fixes.
• Support business analysts as needed with requirements definition and documentation.
• Continue to learn and stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies that are relevant to the software testing function.
• Recommend improvements and efficiencies to improve IT and Portico’s success.
• Understand and comply with all of Portico’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance standards (e.g. internal controls, regulatory compliance, and policy compliance).

• Strong interpersonal relationships and communication skills.
• Ability to efficiently and effectively test new functionality
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to provide triage analysis for reported defects.
• General knowledge of information systems processes such as security, change management and agile development methodology.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects and other assignments and self-manage to meet deadlines
• Strong planning and organizational skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree

Experience

• Working in a software development environment (e.g, SAP, CRM).
• Developing and implementing test plans and test scripts.
• Working in reporting and analytics environments (e.g., SSRS).
• Using SQL for analysis and testing.
• Working within Agile environment.
• Microsoft Office applications (advanced Excel skills).

Starting Pay Range: $66,145 – $82,682
