Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Assistant Property Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a 126-unit HUD Section 8 housing community. This position plays a vital role in supporting the Property Manager and coordinating with on-site staff including the Leasing Specialist, Service Coordinator, and Maintenance Technicians. Responsibilities include leasing support, program compliance, resident relations, and financial and administrative duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Property Manager with daily operations and scheduling

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for resident communications and in-person visits

  • Support leasing activities, including move-ins, annual recertifications, and waitlist management

  • Process rent payments, vendor invoices, and maintain accurate financial records

  • Respond to maintenance requests and coordinate with the Maintenance Technician to ensure timely completion

  • Prepare and maintain resident files in accordance with compliance regulations

  • Provide general administrative support including filing, document preparation, and data entry

  • Ensure all leasing and compliance documentation is accurate and complete

  • Uphold strong resident relations by addressing questions, concerns, and service requests professionally

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in customer service and/or apartment leasing; accounting or administrative background is a plus

  • Experience with Yardi Voyager is highly preferred

  • Strong attention to detail with a sales and customer service mindset

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office equipment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and proof of insurance required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred

  • Must successfully pass a background and drug screening (convictions do not automatically disqualify candidates)

Work Environment:
This is an on-site position at an affordable housing community. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, resident-focused environment and demonstrate a commitment to supporting affordable housing compliance and senior care.
