We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Litigation Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate can independently handle all aspects of litigation, from case strategy and pleadings to depositions, writing briefs, drafting and responding to discovery, motion practice, and trial involving a wide range of legal matters. The work is diverse and fast-paced, the team is lean but sharp, and the bar for quality is high – but so is the support.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse caseload of complex commercial litigation matters from pre-suit to trial
• Draft pleadings, argue motions, draft and respond to discovery, conduct depositions, and participate in mediations and trials
• Provide strategic legal counsel to clients across various industries
• Find creative opportunities where others see roadblocks
• Build cases brick-by-brick with attention to detail
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients on case strategy
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
• An active status with the Michigan State Bar
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, taking depositions, and arguing motions
• Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent client communication and relationship management skills
• Excellent research, legal brief writing, and communication skills
• Strong analytical, writing, communication and interpersonal skills
