About Company:

It is the only institutional spot market for trading and physical redemption of uranium. They are building the world's first institutional-grade uranium benchmark — a digital market reference designed to sit alongside WTI and Brent as the global price discovery mechanism for uranium.

Role: Head of Benchmark & Market Data Science

Location: Chicago, IL (Hybrid)

Compensation: $200K – $350K + 1–2% equity

Benefit: Visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the uranium benchmark methodology (IOSCO-compliant).
• Build and manage data pipelines for spot market order book & trade data.
• Apply statistical models for data cleaning, normalization, anomaly detection, and market surveillance.
• Set up and oversee benchmark governance controls and compliance committees.
• Ensure auditability, transparency, and regulatory compliance.
• Design data licensing models and coordinate on IP protections.
• Work with global data vendors (Bloomberg, Refinitiv, ICE Data) for benchmark distribution.
• Lead regulatory and exchange discussions (CME, LME, SHFE) for futures listings.
• Produce whitepapers, backtesting studies, and liquidity analyses.

Requirements

• 5–15 years’ experience in benchmark creation, market data science, or financial engineering.
• Background with major exchanges, benchmark providers, or commodity agencies (CME, ICE, LME, Platts, Argus, LBMA, S&P GSCI).
• Strong expertise in market data infrastructure, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
