Job Title: Production Supervisor

Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the production department, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently. This role involves planning, coordinating, and controlling the manufacturing processes, ensuring that products are produced on time, meet/exceed company quality standards, and within budget. The Production Supervisor will also manage staff, optimize production processes, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:
  • Manage, lead, and train a team of production staff, including designers, fabricators, and installers.
  • Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure efficiency and adherence to project plans.
  • Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the production team.
  • Quality Control:
  • Ensure all decorative elements meet company and client standards for quality, durability, and aesthetic appeal.
  • Inspect incoming raw materials (e.g., fabrics, trims, threads, labels, packaging) for compliance with quality standards and purchase order specifications. Document inspection results, maintain records, and communicate nonconformities to the purchasing and production teams
  • Conduct post-production reviews to ensure client satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
  • Resource & Inventory Management:
  • Manage procurement of materials and supplies needed for decoration and production.
  • Maintain and manage inventory of raw materials, ensuring sufficient stock levels and cost-effective use of resources.
  • Liaise with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and negotiate favorable terms.

  • Cost Management:
  • Monitor production costs and implement cost-saving measures where possible. Ensure that production stays within budget and margins are maximized.

  • Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure that the production facility operates in compliance with health and safety regulations. Implement safety protocols and conduct regular safety inspections.

  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Stay up to date with industry best practices and new machinery and technologies.
  • Implement and monitor automation processes for cutting tickets to reduce manual errors and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure cutting tickets are generated accurately, including fabric type, color, size breakdowns, and production quantities.
  • Collaborate with the IT/ERP team to maintain and improve cutting ticket automation within the production management system .

  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (customer service, marketing and production) to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Project Planning & Execution:
  • Oversee and coordinate the entire decoration production process, from initial design concepts to installation and final delivery.
  • Develop project timelines and ensure that deadlines are met within budget and quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with design teams, clients, and other departments to ensure that design specifications and client expectations are fully understood and implemented.
  • Assist in developing visual mockups (2D/3D) for customers placing simple to complex custom order and decorated apparel.
  • Work with design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, or CorelDraw) to create mockups.
  • Modify mockups based on feedback from customers
  • Collaborate with VP of manufacturing and Customer Service Staff to produce accurate and on time designs.
  • Ensure that final mockups or decorative elements reflect the intended design location, color and material requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, business management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Office Suite and Corel Products
  • Experience with Decorating Software Preferred (Wilcom, Tajima, etc)
  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of production management, quality control, and safety standards.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Knowledge of industry-specific production processes and equipment.

Experience with ERP systems

English and Spanish-speaking
