Job Description

Core Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field
• 3+ years of safety, health, and environmental engineering and/or leadership
• Experience interacting with and training plant labor regarding environmental and safety practices

Preferred Requirements:

• Master's degree in a related field
• Prior union experience

This position will be responsible for the site's environmental, health, and safety strategy. This position will be responsible for policy management, regulatory compliance, and incident response. The Safety Manager will work with plant leadership to build a strong safety culture and create an environment that fosters the physical well-being of employees.

Responsibilities:

• The primary person responsible for maintaining optimal environmental, health, and safety conditions for the sites
• Audit and analyze the site’s environmental activities to be consistent with the industry’s best practices and government compliance
• Implement new and manage current plant health, safety, and environmental programs
• Work and build relationships with company employees, and train safety program procedures and best practices
• Determine best practices regarding safe operational processes and train staff to implement safety changes
• Work and build relationships with multiple government compliance agencies and divisions
• Lead injury and incident inquiries and evaluations
